PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Your documents do not belong in a chat.
Kip is designed for general guidance. It does not need identity documents or account numbers to answer questions about life in Australia.
What Kip blocks
Messages that appear to contain passport, Medicare, tax file, visa application, Centrelink, driver licence, bank account or payment card identifiers are stopped on Kip’s server before an AI request is made. Kip does not accept document uploads.
What is processed
Your broad questionnaire choices and the recent messages in the current tab are sent with each accepted question so Kip can answer in context. The website does not use a chat database, and this browser history resets when you reload or close the tab.
Live research
For factual questions, Kip asks its AI provider to search an allowlist of Australian government websites. The answer includes links to the official pages used. General questions sent to an external AI provider are handled under that provider’s commercial API terms.
Your choices
Use broad facts only. For example, say “I am an international student in Queensland” instead of sharing a visa number, address or document. Contact the relevant government agency directly when they need to identify you.
This page describes the current product design and should be completed with the operating company name, contact details, hosting locations, retention settings and a legal review before public launch.
